As has been reported elsewhere this afternoon, Guernsey FC learned earlier today that one of its players who played in the 2-0 victory over CB Hounslow United on Saturday had been suspended from Saturday-league football following him being sent off in a Guernsey Priaulx League game whilst playing for his local club, Northerners AC on Friday 10 February. GFC was unaware of this and also of the start of the two game suspension with effect from Friday 2 March, hence his inclusion in the team on Saturday. Upon becoming aware, GFC informed the Combined Counties League today and expect to receive a three point deduction and fine at the league's management committee meeting this evening. A more detailed press release will follow.

hkp was it only a 1 game ban he got and not a 2? he didn't play in the cup game against Staines either and I've not noticed him missing many if any games before during the week.

In any case as shown in the follow up post it was a local game and not a GFC game that caused it anyway.

The Player concerned, should of informed G.F.C. of the Ban.Similar problems occur in other Leagues,as there is not a 1 STOP shop, for any Club to access banned Players.

Thing is, did he know? Does to matter whether he received the paperwork or not, it's an automatic suspension 21 days after the offence.

Northerners would have received the paperwork and told him.Mainly because they have to recoup the Fine Money off of him.Guernsey is not a big Island,so a mistake by the Guernsey Secretary for not checking,as only 1 F.A .to check with.Unlike here in the U.K.

Some clubs pay the fine money on behalf of the players...

Not in Guernsey though H.K.P.,Their Players must surely pay their fines?

I know that only a couple of years ago a number of clubs paid their fines as it was like getting blood out of a stone trying to get the players to cough up. Never happened when I was involved with a club!

.You must take into consideration that it is highly likely any one of them will achieve maximum points by the end of the season, due to the fact that there is only a maximum 3 points available in any match still to be played, where they are playing one another.

In the race for the third spot in the promotion race, it is all to play for.

Hartley Wintney, who play Bedfont Sports next Tuesday (13-03-12), away, could still overtake Bedfont Sports point’s total, although no other team chasing could do likewise.

Warlingham, Eversley, Staines Lammas, Spelthorne Sports could mathematically still overtake Hartley Wintney’s point’s total.

Worcester Park, could equal Hartley Wintney’s total, but have a vastly inferior goal difference.

11-03-12

Interesting finish times in div 1

Sports complete their fixtures on 31st March.

Hartley's last league fixture 28th April.

I know our chairman would be mighty miffed losing out on a months revenue behind the bar!

Not edited at all...sorry smudge!
