Well there you go.  Top of the league.  But a slight gap in the manager’s slot.  Hey ho.  Interesting times ahead – but I’m sure Alex and Colin will come up trumps (no pressure guys!)

Meanwhile, back in the dull grind of the prediction league we welcome Old Urchin and Digger The Cat to the top division after they sauntered to promotion in their first season.  Very well done chaps but it’s a whole new ballgame up in the Les Walker – so I hope you have spent wisely during the Christmas transfer window.   Also back up are Blackballed (he won’t last long), and my good self (probably me neither!).

Down go Cup Of Tea, Fat Tom, Paul C and Mysterious Nick.  The first three have the excuse of being distracted by supporters’ association stuff and associated alcoholic intake.  Not sure what Nick’s excuse is.  Possibly that he is a Southampton fan and didn’t want to outshine his beloved Saints.  Or maybe just simple incompetence.

The coming season will be the normal 14 weeks plus play-offs.   No more money is due – your contributions cover both 23-24 half-seasons.  (Unless you haven't paid yet!).

RULE CHANGE - As noted on a previous thread, the head-to-head fixtures will not now be published until after all the predictions are in (or whenever I get to my PC on Saturday morning, whichever is sooner). And so the competition becomes even more thrilling - who would have thought such a thing possible?     Anyway, it means you now need to get your predictions in by midnight Friday please - which basically only affects Baby Jago these days (but I'm sure he'll cope).   As I will know who FC Chintastico are playing, I’ll make sure I predict fairly early.
