Nette & Unc - We Need You!

Recommended Posts

I have said it several times but some seem to forget WE WOULD NOT HAVE A CLUB WERE IT NOT FOR NETTE AND UNC. So Nette and Unc please don't be driven away by the comments from what must be no more than 0.2% of our fan base. Please remember the other 99.8%, the silent majority who show their support and gratitude for what you are doing for the club each time they pay their money and come through the turnstiles. My experience has found that those who shout loudest are usually in the minority anyway. We need you both so please keep remembering that 99.8%

Thanks Nette for taking the time to write and clarify the situation. Jlo's resignation is a nightmare scenario to handle as can be witnessed by the comments and confrontation seen all over this forum.

As upsetting it is for the fans and all the conjecture, we have to face facts. The club was brought back from the edge of disaster, by it's management and fans who rallied around and turned a nightmare into one of the most enjoyable seasons, no, THE most enjoyable season of football I've witnessed in my short time at the Bridge.

BUT that was then and this is now. Fact is, we don't have a manager, the man who, along with his support team and players gave us such incredible success. That cannot be denied. BUT where does it leave us? Weakened? No, far from it, we have a hugely desireable club and am sure Nett and John will be swamped with interested parties wanting to take John's place.

We cannot get mired in feeling sorry for ourselves or blaming others, or speculating about what happened, only deal with the facts. We need a manager, we all love going to watch our beloved team and we have a good laugh both home and away.

So let's just get on with what we're good at, supporting the team in this much tougher, testing level. Win or lose, we'll be there.....right?

I'm probably one of the 99.8% as i've only been following the urchins for a year. Time to speak up perhaps? It seems to me that we are lucky to have a club to support. I think the people behind the scenes at the club deserve the support of all the fans.

We took 700 plus supporters to the League Cup final for the last match of the season.

Only about ten to twenty of those 700 post messages on the forum. These few can hardly be considered a majority.

Jen and Jon have done a great job this season, so let them get on with their job, and stop criticising the club.

It has been a wonderful season - don't spoil it.

Perhaps time for the "Silent" majority to say something??? Couldn't agree more; very sad to see John Lawrence and his management team go because they've been a key part of what got us back to where we are now. Well done to Jon and Jen though; please keep the good work up!

Uncle and Jen,

I have been observing the forum for the past few weeks and I rarely post these days as there is a lot of hot air typed, with little thought as to what they are saying.

Some posters should pause and read what they have written before they hit the return button when sending their latest pointless view.

Back to point, all management/owners, no matter who they are, will have a section of the crowd who will whinge and snipe. As Serious said ignore it.

We are grateful and understand the thankless task that you do on a daily basis.

regards

DTC

PS "if they aint got the balls to say it to your face why post it on a forum"

forums have always been a place for banter and light hearted footie related and general related gossip and humerous nonsense...not a place for abuse..dissent or washing of dirty socks....

football fans will always have opinions on what is going on at the club they support...(and indeed other clubs in other leagues and of course the 'engurland' managers job)...thats healthy and long may it continue...when those opinions however are harmful to the club or cause distress for well meaning individuals then its time to take stock...

we have done that and we are not best pleased with a few things that seem to prevail at the club we love and the club that we have worked so hard to ressurrect in the past four years...

we must all take stock and ask ourselves this question hand on heart..

''do we love our football club and will we support that football club through thick and thin''....

we could always answer yes to that question and have proved that by our commitment to the club over the past four years in helping to transform it from a 'one man and his dog' outfit to a successful.. achieving club with great facilities and great suppporters......

at this moment in time however.. we cannot in truth say yes to that question.......

yes...its time for everyone to take stock..time for everyone to get firmly behind the club..time for ALL SUPPORTERS to show some appreciation of the hard work and effort and financial support that goes into afchx....

or time to go our seperate ways..

I am one of the (fairly) silent majority and try not to upset anyone. It's far nicer to have friends than enemies! However, at the risk of making enemies I would like to ask those who are "unhappy" a simple question. What do they expect the Club to do to make them "happy" again? JLo has quit and will not come back. The club must move on. Castigating the Club and, even worse, criticising individuals serves no purpose except to demotivate these hard-working individuals who give their life and soul to the club. Will it bring JLo back? No! Expressing deep felt disapointment is expected but we are not shareholders. We have no voting rights.

i'm upset jlo has left, but left he has.

everyone involved with the club worked so hard last season and it was one of the best i've ever experienced as a football fan.

all i want is to have a beer and cheer on the hornchurch. and the fa cup. i'll be back next season for at least 2 of the 3. (yes, i'm thinking of giving up drinking )

i love the club, but some of the crap that goes on i think we could all do without.

i'm not sure how this divide between the management and some sections of the support can be removed, as it's made for a quiet and paranoid forum at the moment. perhaps a clear the air meeting or naked mud wrestling? maybe we could have a knockout arm-wrestling competition? maybe j-lo could make public his reasons for leaving?

or maybe i should just get back to work and leave the bickering to the rest of you?

It is obvious that you feel passionately about the club, as we all do, but this "divide", if there is one, is between the Management and about ten supporters. It is not a chasmic rift. But I still ask what can the Club do to make you happy? Maybe the Club regards ten "unhappy" supporters as acceptable collateral damage? After all, you can't please all the people all of the time. There are still 600+ who will turn up, pay their money, and if they like what they see will come back again.

The support this season has been tremendous - 700 plus went to the LC final.

The handful who have made themselves thorougly obnoxious on this forum are not representative of the true supporters of the club.

Comments like this are a not on. I take it very personally if people question my support of this club.

It would appear that you are suggesting you are obnoxious. I am sure that is not the case. You must admit that anyone trawling the forum would get the impression that the fabric of our Club is falling apart. This is not true as the list of dissenters is very small.

I'm suggesting that I'm obnoxious?? What gives you that impression

I would imagine that most people trawling the forum would be confused at what is appearing on it but making judgements on who are the 'true supporters' from it all is actually what I would consider obnoxious.

Why is then, that we have suddenly piped up?

We obviously need something to complain about.
