Deleting these threads stops the new reader getting some insight and background to this affair, and if its the ones with the shirt and ball it should be published not suppressed.
Far from helping rhodes "move on" from Haringey it just adds fuel to the conspiracy fire, sugar stroking his white cat in his cave advising wader on what will happen to him if he is disappointed.

Hmmm, I would of hoped you could of offered a little more credence to my actions here. I am no-one's poodle and don't know 'sugar' from adam, whoever adam is! The facts are that there were 3 Haringey threads. They were completely inter-related insomuch that each carried the same information as the other. There really was no need for 3 Haringey threads, apart from being a tool for Rhodes to bash that club over the head. A little unfair to use 3 threads to constantly do that don't you think?

If Cecil proffered any good reason as to why 3 threads were required, then of course I would listen. He has not. He has run off to tell tales. He has not even asked me to re-instate the threads instead just made threats. I am happy to deal with rational argument, but not taken in by irrational behaviour.

I am even happy for Cecil to debate his case for 3 Haringey Borough threads publicly on here. We could have the Debate Thread! He has to bear in mind though that debating is all about people having their say in a sensible and well thought out and argued manner.

Excellent suggestion. I am happy to merge them into one thread. If Cec is content with that compromise then it shall be done. I await to hear from him. I suspect though that it won't suit his purposes. We'll see.

I must say I am surprised that Rhodes hasn't been on here to comment on spursfan's suggestion yet. It has been half and hour and I would have thought this was not the time for Cecil to go awol. Difficult decisions have to be made, I hope he is not shirking them.

 

No doubt he will come on here when the tea lady's trolly has departed and he has had his fill of iced buns.

The problem with merging the threads is that the posts will be ordered by the posting date and time so when all three threads were being simultaneously posted to they will be very difficult to comprehend!

I have never post tampered.

The non-offensive posts were offensive to someone, so no, they won't be re-instated. People do e.mail complaints to me from the notify button, as you have done yourself.

We may have a slight problem though. I just popped into the forum graveyard with some flowers for the 2 Haringey threads when I noticed that there is nothing in there at all. No dead threads of any kind, zilch! It's all disappeared.

I am hoping momentary database error here rather than anything more serious.

In the absense of Cec making a decision and the desperate need for me to attend another place, I have decided to take the compromise a step further and re-instate the two deleted Haringey threads but merged into one.

 

For an experimental period of time, that gives Cecil 2 Haringey threads to play with. We'll see how it works and take it from there. If he can then make a case for 2 threads to stay, they can. If not spursfan's ultra mega mega thread will be created.

 

However, the database is still not available so it'll have to wait until later.

As one who has followed this sorry saga from the beginning and has read every one of the hundreds of posts on the subject, may I throw in my observations?

 

The "New Haringey Borough" thread was opened by someone desperate to see the old one put to bed (ie it wasn't Rhodes). As the instigator of the "New" thread did not have moderator powers, the old thread remained, hopefully dormant. However, of course, Rhodes was unable to leave it alone and confine his posts to the new one. So we ended up with two active threads on which Rhodes bombarded us with vitriol about Aki and his inoffensive club.

 

I lost my cool over this and, in a futile attempt to shame Rhodes into better behaviour, I opened the "Rhodes Bitch Against" thread, so that he could confine his "woman scorned" stuff to it, and leave the other threads to sensible comment concerning a member club of the SSMFL.

 

Of course, this then presented Rhodes with THREE platforms for his spite (well actually, he vents this spite on every thread ever opened, but that's another story).

 

I for one am not happy at the suggestion that all three threads are combined. I think that even the third should be killed off. Further, any more attempts by Rhodes to use this forum to slag off Aki and Haringey should lead to his suspension for 30 days.
