FA Cup/FA Vase Draws

Recommended Posts

A couple of winnable ties at home followed by an away trip to Guernsey would be financially good.

I always prefer draws against non SSML sides for the chance to visit different grounds.

Hopefully Gloucester can get to the 1st Round proper again, but with a weakened squad this year I doubt we'll do that well in the Cup.  Probably knocked out by Cirencester or Chippenham.

Is the Trophy Draw out tomorrow too?

Would love, more than anything to see a SSML side make the 1st round proper. How amazing would that be!

Would like to see a few derbies (Hertford v Hoddy would bring in a good crowd).

What I'd like most of all is just for one side to go on a good run

Guernesy aren't going to be in the Vase this season.

Was thinking more of the FA cup when I wrote that. 3 wins is about £8k in prize money as opposed to £2.5k in the vase although I couldn't see what the numbers were for this season ... or indeed anything on the FA website about either competition except when the FA cup final was when I looked yesterday

Was reading the other day they might not enter any FA competitions due to the stipulations the FA are putting on them, such as all replays on the mainland.

With the draws due out tomorrow who would you want to be paired with and who do you want to avoid?

I would like a away game down by the sea somewhere like Saltdean United FC or Newhaven FC!

Yes there did seem to be a lot of extra conditions they had to meet. Given the crowds they attracted last season their first FA cup gane should stir up a lot of interest. Probably easier to get to Guernsey than parts of Cornwall for an away trip though

Would love an away game as coach trips we had to Takeley and Ampthill in Vase last year were what got me hooked on non league football (last year was my first). Then again a Hertford Town v Broxbourne Borough game would be juicy considering they are the guys that wanted to run Hertford Town.

I understand that in Vase we can get drawn to any club from step 5 and below that is relatively nearby......anyone know which leagues does this mean?

Anyone know what steps and leagues are in the mix with Spartan Premier in FA Cup draw?

We usually get a lot of all SSML or SSML/ Essex Senior ties. Tring were away at Bedfont Sports (Combined Counties) last season and there might be the occasional UCL side thrown in to the Extra Prelim. We should also get the draw for the Preliminary Round and 1st & 2nd qualifying tomorrow which I would imagine includes the teams up to R1N/S & SL (1Q) then Ryman / Southern Premier (2Q)
