Thought we were very decent up at Finchley.  Well done all.  Not sure what happened to the shawarmas (sp?) mind you.  They were, generally speaking,  the main reason for going to the Maurice Rebak.  No wonder the Wingate crowds continue to dwindle.

Anyway, onto the prediction league.  Too early to talk about Div 1 – you’ve heard it all before anyway.  But in Div 2 the new “boys” had a decent start.  Comfortable wins for Marta and Digger, and a defeat for Old Urchin – but only just.    Marta was so impressive she now tops the division, with Urchin Queen (incredible I know) tucked into second place.   It’s going to be the year of the ladies.  Let’s hope so anyway, as we may get some funding from some equality quango somewhere.

Official warnings given to Blackballed and COYS due to lines between the scores. (COYS warning later rescinded after his slightly more competent son managed to intervene.  Curses).  Gentle warnings given to new boys Old Urchin (lines between the scores) and Digger.The.Cat due to a) scores not placed between the teams and b) entering the scores as a PICTURE ffs.   The latter transgression is so outlandish it doesn’t even have a rule against it (a bit like Dennis Lillee's metal bat). My doctor has upped my blood pressure pills as a direct result.  Good news (for me) - it looks like I’m gonna pull through.    (This is when I discover Digger doesn’t have a sense of humour!)

In other news, "bottom of the league (again)" Dinamo grabbed me during the second half and wittered on about his keyboard being incorrectly mapped, which seemingly meant that his crowd prediction of 319 would have been 218 if only he'd gone to a reputable keyboard vendor. Presumably not one in the West Midlands. Unluckily for Dinamo I was driving to the game and therefore sober, so I saw through this otherwise watertight exposition.  (There’s a word for you – look it up).

I think you'll find @Jago still prefers the scores in between the teams. e.g. Witham 0 v 5 Hornchurch

Please excuse the previous post. I am a senior gentleman after all and was struggling to submit the results in the required format. After much ado and a sudden increase in blood pressure I may have got there!

@Digger. The. Cat! "Is this any better?" you ask.   Well it's not a picture which means I can cut and paste the scores into excel.   That is a major breakthrough.   I am very happy with this.

But it still breaks both diktats of rule 5.1, namely - i) please put the scores between the matches, and 2) don't stick extra lines in.   You must be retyping the scores instead of doing a cut and paste (as c+p always works).   If you have to retype them, please use <shift> <enter> after each line, not just <enter>.  This normally works though iPads are a bid dodge I believe.   In extremis you can do a simple list,  eg    0-2, 2-1, 4-0, 8-2, 0-2, Att 333, cont. 2-0.

Then we will get along fine!  Do it again and I will have to give you an official warning.  Cruel I know, but if I don't Dinamo and some of the other more entitled types will accuse me of losing my grip.
