Bits from the Other Place

Recommended Posts

This is an attempt to pass on bits of info from the other forum to people who are not members there. Just trying to aid communication and keep things in one place.

Various reports after Wembley.

A 256 pagebook is being produced featuring the pictures of fans and about 12 articles by people showing various aspects of the big day out.

"It is vital for our prosperity next season to make full use of the vast resources from within our membership. One such way we intend doing this is through the formation of The ProZone Team. We have successfully negotiated the use of three ProZone licenses for the 2008/09 season. A license comes in the form of a security dongle (like a memory stick or zip drive) that has to be plugged into a PC in order for the ProZone software to work. For each of our three licenses we intend to have three regional ProZone teams coving games in the south (including home games), midlands and north (including Wales). We envisage the southern regional team having 4 or 5 members, with the north and midlands teams requiring 2 or 3 members. "

Thanks for that YF. At last some feedback from the "other" forum.

Still cannot fathom our why non-members are not allowed to view the posts - we would be happy to fully register, names, addresses, ISP's etc.

It would be interesting to see what the "conduct of Everyone" thread is about. I presume it is related to certain troublemakers on the forum.

No, that is one of the first questions that other members asked when this news broke. Back at the Oxford game, Will said that numbers were going well.

Also, 2 weeks ago a 1 month series of adverts was run on www.worldsoccerdaily.com in the USA. This was arranged by members and the expendature was voted through by members. It seems we are getting much more time on air than was paid for a decent ( as yet unknown ) number of new members have joined via that. A member reported having contact from a guy in Australia & Brazil who had joined after hearing the WSD podcast . ( its a good show actually ). The MYFC membership figre went over 30,000 yesterday.

Well done YF.

It doesn't do any harm to point out the good side of MyFC over here, it isn't all championship manager and arguments everybody.

Big congratulations to DA11 and all concerned in arranging for the three youngsters to have a day they will never forget.

Three new fans I think. applause

No, it was a general thread about conduct on the forum. The opening post got lots and lots of 5-star ratings. But there have been some fratches lately! Mind you, there always are some things going on, there are so many people posting. It feels very different from here and there are now over 30,000 members.

Article by Jessica.

Have just returned from watching the lads take the well deserved open top bus ride. Thank goodness it had stopped raining so the team were able to enjoy themselves and take in the wonderful atmosphere.

A great turn out from the local people which I am sure gave the team a great boost. It was wonderful to see so many people still wearing the red wigs, draped in scarves, waving flags and thanks to a local rogue trader, loads of youngsters blowing whistles.

As a well seasoned fan it was wonderful so see that so many people thought it worth while turning up. The bus had a slight problem getting through the narrow part of the town as someone had forgotten to get the key to the gate that blocks the pedestrian area ready so the team bus was stopped for at least five odd minutes. This gave some fans time to hand flags up to the players which they readily took.

Round the corner on towards the local civic centre a local florist which was still open had staff throwing red and white flowers up to the players, a lovely touch.

The huge multi-cultural population was well represented and the team was greeted as they entered the local council building by a Bhangra drum band which was fantastic. The players went upstairs onto a small balcony that overlooked the where many of the pepople had congregated. Sasha jumped from the balcony onto a flat roof and ran towards the crowd waving the cup high in the air and screaming, something like "we won the cup", I think.

All the team took turns to hold the cup and were royally cheered, the local Mayor gave a short speech and got Liam's name wrong. LOL. Then Liam gave a really nice speech thanking everyone for making Saturday such a great day, he said it was the greatest day of his life and that when they came out onto the pitch on Saturday they could not believe how many people were there supporting them. He had the biggest smile on his face, as did everyone.

A great thrill for all concerned and a great tribute to just what the team and club have achieved over the last season.

I think at last it may be sinking in, we really did win the cup.

New Vote , ends May 25.

"The Board proposes that our club should reject all offers for EUFC players, unless the following four conditions are met:

1. The offer is acceptable to the player

2. The Coach believes the offer is acceptable and fair

3. The Society board, in consultation with the CEO, and as

representatives of the members, agrees that any decision taken is in the best interests of the club.

4. Wherever possible, any fee for such a deal should primarily be used to re-invest in the squad. "
