Well.  The draw for the first round proper is tomorrow.  Let’s just hope Oxford get Boreham Wood away as if it’s Orient (or similar) I shall cut my wrists.  (Snowflake alert – obviously I won’t do that, I’m exaggerating for literary effect).  Oxford were defo there for the taking, but events overtook us:  irrespective of whether it was a “red” or a “yellow” it was a foolish challenge and why give the ref the option? 

Hey ho – Enfield lost in the league, and I won the 50:50. Small compensations in the scheme of things, but consolations nevertheless.

Down in the parallel universe, it was a very low scoring week.  Big hitters (in their own minds) Luke, Sir Colin, Mr D and Ozz managed a pathetic 8 goals between the four of them.    But that didn't stop our proper Big Hitter Paul C continuing his relentless pursuit of world domination (Played 5, won 5). 

Mysterious Nick (who?) consolidated into second spot by claiming the Golden Boot and leaving heads scratching the length and breadth of the league – a) who is this guy? and b) has he got nits?

In the wannabe division, Ozz lost the battle of the top two (2-3 v CuppaTea who now leapfrogs Ozz into first place).  But frankly if the top two can only manage a paltry five goals between them it really makes one wonder about the famous “strength in depth” of our prediction league.

Finally a special mention to Fat Tom and Baby Jago – who both slammed in 10 goals but had the misfortune to be playing each other.  C’est la vie chaps.
