A couple of non league snippets

Yep it was originally for the 15th which will be the next round of the trophy, so it only needed ourselves or Truro to get through and the game would have been postponed, and therefore the only option would have been to move it to a Tuesday night.

Was just a bit of forward thinking, which luckily went in our favour.

Surprised to see Nathan Poulton has left Burnham, where he was skipper,to join Chesham. Perhaps it was down to money or the perceived move to a 'bigger' club.

Wouldn't have thought Burnham's manager,Gary Meakin, would have wanted this to happen,as by all accounts Poulton's been playing very well and obviously going to be hard to replace.

Chesham's a well run and a far bigger club than Burnham.

If your looking to progress in football it's a no brainer.

Chesham United are without doubt bigger than Burnham (not sure why you would think otherwise?) and no doubt more money was on offer plus there's much more chance of success and progression at Chesham. Apart from that not totally sure why he moved...

Bedford Town, once a big semi pro club, still has the potential and fan base, so maybe not such a bad move to help restore them to former glories (as with Kettering, Salisbury, Enfield, Hendon, Maidstone, Wealdstone, Slough etc.). Who knows?

I remember Wycombe versus Bedford in a F.A. cup game drew a reported 10,000 so they had a fair bit of support way back then.

Ryan Laville aka Ryan Charles who scored two against us when we lost 3-0 to Chesham has now joined Spartan South club Berkhampstead.

Still no idea why he decided to change his surname.

How many clubs has this lad signed for this season? And isn't there a maximum number of clubs a player can sign for in one season?

Not as far as I'm aware.  Your League rule-book is the place to check.

  • 2 weeks later...

Wonder what their other big players will make of Kolodynski leaving. The likes of Lake-Gaskin.

Shame as like us I was hoping after years of being close to getting-up, they would finally do it this year and that's a huge blow.
