Rob,

any chance of putting their open goal miss on here?

the one which dagger 04 has described so beautifully here...

"The Bowers player flicked the ball round Collier, and homed in towards the empty goal. Collier raced back, flung himself headlong at the ball, and it proved just enough, as the Bowers player (name withheld to avoid him any acute embarrassment) was just distracted enough, and he hammered the ball high over the bar, and it sailed out of the ground and into the darkness, being briefly lit up by a passing rocket and then disappearing into oblivion, with police sirens wailing in the background as the ball headed towards Pitsea market."

cheers.

Talk about a tale of two Ricks!

Certainly some of the home side's tackling in the first half was a bit strong, but of course we can compete with any kind of rough play, what I fail to understand is why the refs can't do their job and put a stop to all the foul play.

Indeed the save of the season was made by their keep whose father was well pleased when we exchanged pleasantries at half time, for the ref to give a goal kick.

That's enough about the officials but of course the tale of two Ricks, a ricket on their behalf, blimey let's face it should have been the winner and then our Rick, good old Burbs and well pleased for you mate, just to emphasise what I always say, every man in the squad plays his part.

"It's a funny ol' game!"

Well done to the travelling hordes again

Roll on LAPSA, again!

>>Good to see you caught their number 4 on camera kicking the ball at us.

Is this by chance the same number four whose tackle left Danny Heale limping at half pace?

Is this the same number four who was himself tackled rather strongly off the ball by ---- ----- (name known but the referee missed it) just on half time?

And re-Paul Dennis' excellent save from Tim Hambley which the referee also missed and gave a goal kick - yes, an excellent save, but I still think that Micky Collier's headlong dive at the ball must be counted as a save, since it was enough to make the player hit the ball high over the top.

Was that ref yesterday the worst ref you have ever seen? i counted at least 10 times he let bowers players kick lumps out of us.and the keepers world class tip over from timmy hambleys 20 yarder. he give a goal kick.also i would like to pat our players on the back getting a win on a paddy field like that.

great stuff lads keep up the good work

Hello Stands me 'ol Mucker

He does qualify in that league, with the Brentwood ref and plenty others, trouble is the officials names not been posted anywhere, there was no team sheet, no tannoy

I saw an Echo league game today, Under 14s and the ref was superb, told him so as well!
