I wander if any are the ones involved with all this and are just sitting back laughing (evil laugh) at all this.

I know smudge said we should kinda boycott Cobham FC should the take over go ahead but it will be us clubs that end up with fines for not going in the bar afterwards for "hospitality" so either way we're f@#cked.

Now personally speaking: THIS IS A BLOODY JOKE.

Can understand why the league have not commented on matters, courts, barristers, police, bouncers. Wtf are we dealing with here?

The whole thing stinks. F@#king smells!!

B & F,please show me where I have posted anything about a Boycott of Cobham if the take over goes ahead?

Struggling to follow what's gone on here, but am I right in thinking Ken Reed & Co have been ousted from Cobham and this football finder bloke and his cronies have taken over with it all being legal and above board?

Seems that way with the added possibility and complication the ground lease is held by Ken Reed in his name, not Cobham Fcs.

this is purely an opinion gathered from posts on here of course...

All gone quiet on this one, seems like a Barry Wilde led team played at Cobham FC Saturday.

No trespass committed?

Bar open?

Sounds like a done deal, unless some of the voters at the EGM were incorrectly declared as members, which must be doubtful as that was part of the preceding court case.

Any new news?

UKFFC have been given permission by Elmbridge Council to use the Leg of Mutton. They seem to not want local use. However do not think this is the end of matters for sure,June 9th 2014 could be the final deciding matter,in this ongoing saga, that is when an application to the Football Foundation for the sum of £68,000 was made,Football,Hockey,Handball,Youth, were to be the Beneficiaries.Only fit and proper people should run football clubs so the FA tell us,lets see if they are true to their word,THE JURYS OUT.

Yes the previously sacked manager took this game and will be taking the game tonight and any in the near future by the looks of it. Therefore the managers, staff, and players that literally saved the club and kept its league status are suplus to requirements for the moment. The players have not had any contact at all from the reinstated manager, chairperson, director of football, or anybody at all within Cobham despite all they have done for the club and not even a single thanks.

In alot of peoples eyes it is trespassing yes however as they bullied their way through the EGM with this so called "constitution" and changed the locks straight after thats the way it is for the moment even though it is sickening.

It's now up to the higher powers to decide whether de-registered players count as members should be able to vote and if this should be decided by a democracy of people that are nothing to do with Cobham FC. It's obvious to see the whole thing stinks.

Thanks for the update and summary, yes it does seem to stink, and it would have been better if the reinstated manager had chatted with the last set of players and coaches, must have been some synergy there somehow.

I hope its not going to be a field day for the lawyers.

I suppose at some point the other clubs will have to decide if they want the type of club in their league that might put out a bunch of world beaters in August and some 3rd rate trialists in May.

I doubt we all have much of a choice, given the projected numbers for next season.

TSF,you have hit the nail on the head, what happened was legal as far as the Meeting,if a little underhand. It also had the backing of a County Court Judge and Ken Reed to take place, reason being that the previously sacked Director of Football was allowed to Chair the meeting, write the Agenda, tells its own story, hence the Bouncers and police presence. But unfortunenately they had done their homework re The Constitution as regards what constituted being a Member of Cobham FC,and used it to there advantage. The exclusion of any members of Surrey FA,Combined Counties League Representatives at the meeting, further underlines their intentions of a Coup de Tait.

Well no it wasnt... Cobham Constitution they have made public on their site - http://media.wix.com/ugd/6b2210_fed94114f3944ba9a99aaffbf7a1977b.pdf

point 4.G - members. Does not mention de-registered players!!!!! and if they want to argue it does then anyone that walks through the grounds of Cobham FC becomes a Cobham member!!!! So de-registered players cant vote... which means the meeting was not legal!! if they are to argue this then there basically saying if you walk through Cobham FC's gates your a Cobham member... no? Thoughts?

WOW !!!

Well over a week away from a keyboard and it's taken me quite some time just to read through this thread,

Interesting points of view from both sides.

I think the only safe comment I can make at this stage is that the real winners will be the legal-eagles  !!

I remember well how much was pocketed by said people in the old DFC  v  MVDC lease court case.  Never mind the daily rate, a QC's hourly rate is staggering.

Yeah I have some thoughts :

That bit of paper looks worthless to me.  No signatures, no dates.

As Ive said every club should have a good look at this part of their business.

We have read on here that the constitution and membership criteria was agreed in court prior to meeting.

Reaching that decision would be very difficult based on my  reading of the constitution.

So I have doubts that the document linked to, is the one put before the judge.

.... and at the end of the day, once a Judge is involved there is only one hymn sheet to sing from !

  • 2 weeks later...

So how are things at Cobham now that they have resumed playing ?

I note that DFC beat them 3 - 0 on Tuesday evening.

Did anyone go to the match ?
